The TAD BLACKPLATE(TM) series shows a top performance because of very stable thermical heat dissipation resulting in brilliant longevity. Tonally, you can expect a sweet breakup, warm and musical mids with an overall NOS-character, following and paying hommage to the legendary designs of the golden age of tube manufacturing.
In our listen tests in 5E3 Deluxe Amps and Fender 65′ Deluxe Reverb amps they were on par with the black anode RCA 6V6GT from the early 1960s.
Due to the closure of the tube factory in 2019, the TAD Blackplate Series was no longer available for several years. In the new production facility, these tubes have been manufactured again from old stocks of raw materials since January 2024 and are therefore available again as long as the original materials last..
